January OCS

Just wanted to share the cards for this month's OCS! I saw that a lot of people were doing the easel cards so I decided to give it a try! It is actually pretty easy so I'm making more of those! My partner made an easel card too!

Here is my 1st easel card...

And here is the card I received from Sharon...

TFL! I guess this will be my last post for awhile. I'll be off to California, mainly for Disneyland! Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Like I work all day, then I get a little free time after then gotta go sleep for another day of work! Then weekend! hehe. Life in general is flying! Anyways, before I sleep, here is my card with Toby Cub! Too bad the relay ended...it was fun while it lasted!

Just saying hello

A quick post to share the card I made for the Just Magnolia challenge! There was a sketch we needed to follow but yet I still had a hard time! :( I have yet to buy any Magnolia stamps. All the nice images I have are from Denise! It sure goes a long way! Here's the sketch I followed and my card! TFL! Gotta start my card for TGF's CHA Relay Race!

*I realized my ink wasn't dark enough to show my sentiment in the picture! :( It's supposed to say "Just saying hello".

Charlotte!

Charlotte is the 2nd free digi when you participate in the CHA relay race! Wow, it's getting a little confusing at TGF, I guess also because of the time difference too. Also I don't know why I thought Charlottle was due today so I was rushing last night to make a simple one. This relay is fun and something different! Can't wait for the other digis!

Mermaid Ian!

Mermaid Ian is super cute! Good thing I was browsing last night and saw that TGF is having the CHA Relay Race. You use the free digi and create a card, put it in the galleria and then comment on the blog with the entry and your email. As long as you make a card, you get the next digi free! Made me more motivated to participate. Just hope I can finish all 5 of them! I thought it was so cute that they came up with Mermaid Ian...I would have made the card better but I was in a rush since I was out all day. It is supposed to look like Mermaid Anya is thinking about Mermaid Ian! Oh well...I tried! TFL!

Mermaid Birthday

I decided to do a challenge at Your Next Stamp! Their images are super cute! The challenge was to make a card that Sparkles! It's kind of hard to tell in the picture but I just ended up using a lot of stickles! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

My 1st Stampin 'Up Class

This past Sunday, my bf's mom invited me to a Stampin 'Up class at someone's house. I was so amazed as it was my first time attending this kind of thing and I'm getting to love the products as well too! Ended up ordering stuff from the catalog and got enough to get one saleabration item free! We made 4 projects!

First we made a pin using fabric. We used the new 4 flower die from SU and each flower size was a layer to make a big flower. Each flower was folded into half to make so that it looks like there's two hearts on each side. And at the end put a button in the middle. The demonstrator meant to buy black buttons but mistakenly bought navy blue! haha! She gave us a little bag to put the pin on! so cute!

Then we made a little holder to hold a fun size candy bar. It uses a large scallop circle, a border punched belly band and a sentiment in the front.

Next, we made a one-sided card. I thought it was so creative that we used the oval die and the scallop of the oval die to make a purse! can you tell? We used the new DP from SU and the new bird punch! We cut the oval die on the fold so you can open it and write a little message! love it!

Last but not least, we made the easel calendar box that a lot of other people have been making online too! It was good to know how to make this! Super cool!

I had such a great time! It was great to do so many things in only 2 hours! It helped that everything was pre-cut! :) I might want to start attending more classes!

Kitty Love...

Just a quick post...past my bedtime, gotta work! hehe! Did another challenge! Yay! !At Sketch Saturday! Got to use my neglected kitty Pink Cat Studio stamp. Thought I'd make more Valentine's cards while I can! TFL!

Gorjuss Girl...

Couldn't come up with a better title for this blog entry...my brain didn't want to think! Sad the weekend is over! But glad the work week is short! Anyways, I decided to do a challenge with Allsorts! The challenge was to use Pink and Brown in your card...I'm kind of liking the color combo challenges. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

New Year's Card

I have an old friend from high school that I keep in touch with and told him that I recently got into cardmaking. I also told him about my blog so I think he checked it out. I was so surprised that he got me a CRAK! (it was from his gf too) He dropped it off on Christmas morning and I was really touched! Super thoughtful!

It was totally unexpected and so I did not have anything for them. Since it was going to be past Christmas, I decided to make them a New Year's card with a gift card. As I was browsing online, I found a tutorial for a pop up gift card holder. It was pretty simple making the inside. I just needed better tape so it stays close! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Piggy Buddies!

Right when I saw the new piggy stamp from Rachelle Ann Miller, I knew I had to get it! I don't know if you've noticed with my previous cards, but I love to use animal/critter images! It took me awhile to start buying some people stamps! hehe! So I thought it would be a good chance to do the challenge at Cute Card Thursday! The challenge was to use pink and grey in your card. I couldn't decide on an already made layout so I tried my best at making my own! Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello Kitty Gift Set

I didn't know what to get for my good friend for her birthday since it was a few days after Christmas! So I thought it would be a good chance to make more things and use my HK dies! I wish they made more HK rubber stamps...I was lazy to cut out the different colors for the Sizzix dies so I used mostly the Sizzix Embosslits...way easier cause there's only one piece! :) I made a total of four things...
I made a HK coaster calendar using HK origami

Here's a Post-it Note Holder

A 2-year pocket planner

And a calendar in frame

Here is everything all together...

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! I can't wait for the 3 day weekend!

Bee My Valentine...

I'm having fun making some Valentine's Day cards! Makes me think of elementary school for some reason. Probably because that was the only time I got the most Valentine cards! Haha! Well my bf actually handmade me a card one year so that was pretty cool. Anyways, I decided to do a sketch challenge over at Eat Sleep Stamp.

Simple Coaster Calendar Magnets

This is my last thing from Christmas to post. To go along with my 5 card set, I decided to make a coaster calendar. I just made a simple one with cardstock/origami, calendar and ribbon. Then on the back, I glued a magnet so it could be put on the refrigerator or a file cabinet. TFL!

Hearts...

I was finally able to participate in a challenge, since the holidays are all done! I decided to do the challenge with A Spoon Full of Sugar where you had to use hearts on your card! Great time to get a head start on Valentine's! I used my new stamp by Penny Black and also the heart lace border punch. I wanted to add more embellishments but everything I tried seemed like it distracted the image! I still like it anyway because this is my first Valentine's card I made!

Decopauge...

Sorry, I know Christmas is over but I still have some things to share! I've been into decopauge for a little while now and love trying to find something to cover and make pretty! A few months ago, I bought a plain wooden box from Ben Franklin and decided to cover it with washi paper. I guess this one wasn't too creative so I cut out the flowers and fishes and spread it around. Then I just painted the inside black.

Then, I had a gift certificate to wrap and I was thinking of something other than the usual. I had kept my Absorber (cloth used to dry your car) container because the plastic was hard and it didn't smell or anything. I decided to decopauge it! Surprisingly, I didn't have enough Christmas dp and I didn't think to use wrapping paper so I tore little pieces of red and green computer paper. It took awhile to do the whole thing. Then I scattered snowflakes around and used stickles in the middle of each. Lastly, put ribbon around. I think it looks weird but I think it would look better with designer paper...there's always next time! TFL!

Here's the back...

and the front!

Leftover Giftwrap Cards and an Altered Jar

Hello! I'm sad I haven't participated in a card challenge in a couple months! Now that the holidays are over, hopefully I can soon and get more practice! Anyways, I just wanted to share some simple thank you cards I made to show my appreciation for my Christmas gifts/money. My granmda had a big gift and I asked if I could keep the paper and she said ok. I decided to use it as my dp! My brain was getting fried trying to think of a different layout for each card even though it looks easy! I used the same stamp for the "thank you" and embossed it in gold. Here they are...

My grandma also had one of those island princess popcorn jars that she was going to give away. She said I could decorate it...this is what I came up with...

Snowglobe Shaker Cards

I finally got to use my snowglobe stamp to make the shaker cards! But wow, it took me so long to do because this is only my second time doing it. I guess they turned out ok for now...but I realized after looking at the pix that I should've put more stuff in the card to shake! There's always next time! Happy new year everyone!
